Mentoring in the 21st century
The essence of mentoring refers to the strategic intent to
increase leadership capability through mentoring and indeed, technology is at
the heart of this guided learning experience
An essential part of the solution was the need to reduce the
time spent away from work, removing the need for travel and providing
instantaneous support.
The challenges were overcome by introducing technology to
enable a just-in-time approach and provide an instant connection and reliable
service.
This overall concept was the new e-mentoring paradigm.
At the heart of e-mentoring model was the use of web enabled
and mobile technology, which would facilitate speed learning…any time…anywhere!
Mentees tend to improve their self-confidence and
self-awareness through mentoring / e-mentoring.
e-Mentoring / Mentoring develop a coaching culture, enrich
team-work ethics and indeed shared learning concept.
